Ashley C. Ushi, Principal

Ashley C. Ushi

Born from a bloodline of educators- beginning with my grandmother and aunts, I understood the power of education early on. My “why” was not always clear to me initially. I went to college in Mississippi and graduated from the University for Women with a B.S. and M.S. degree in Public Health.I went back to complete a Master’s in Teaching from Marian University, here in Indianapolis and is furthering my education in the first Ed.D cohort at Marian University. I have work experience in various school roles including- worked as an Instructional assistant, co-teacher, special education resource teacher, teacher leader, Director of Special Education, Director of Curriculum and Instruction (E/LA) and Vice Principal.

Ashley describes her vision and personal mission of education by quoting JFK, “A child miseducated, is a child lost”. Ashley feels this describes her why and the impact in which she intends to make in the lives of children and to education, in general. Ashley plans to continue building meaningful relationships with the families at Tindley Summit Academy while creating environments that allow children to explore their world through content that meet their needs.

So happy to be back to Tindley Accelerated Schools!
